matt1984 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 My truck was broken into last night, and I was an idiot and left my rod in the back seat. THank god it didnt get stolen, but they broke the small sliding glass window in the back and when they slid into the truck my rod tip got snapped. Now I need to know if I can get this fixed, I need it ASAP as I am moving soon and I need to get as much fishing in as possible before I go. Thanks Quote
cdock Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 That sucks dude. You should be able to fix it. Take it into Fish Tales or the Fishin Hole, either one should be able to help you out. Not sure how quick though. What size rod? What kind? I may be able to lend you a replacement. Quote
matt1984 Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 yeah it really sucks, I'm more pissed off at myself though for leaving it in there. It's my pop's old rod and if I lost it I would be choked. It's a sage 586 RPL 5 weight. Thanks alot for the offer, I'd feel bad taking a loaner from someone I've never met.....but if you're offering.... . I'll bring it in today and see how long it will take. Quote

Thanks A guy at work told me he took a rod with a broken tip to Wholesale Sports; George fixed it,no charge. So he spent the money he saved on flies- good deal for both, I figure! Quote
Taco Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Contact Sage, toll free at (800) 533-3004, they may be able to help but the RPL+ is a rod 10 yrs out of production... sorry to say but carbon fibre rods are pretty much unrepairable if broken.... the original owner could send it back and you'll most likely end up with a new replacement rod. Guest rusty Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Just send that Sage in through a shop - you'll get faster service and no trouble for not being the original owner. I recommend Fish Tales - have always had excellent fast service through them. Quote
