I'm only 54 and the Doc says the type I have usually occur in heavy drinkers, heavy smokers and diabetics. And I'm none of those things. Did I waste part of my life or something? Although, I have no experience in it, I have to go on hearsay. From what she was told by her doctor, her vision would actually improve due to the surgery. trufisher10 Posted February 16, 2009 Share Posted February 16, 2009 My wife had it done, the lens will most likely be for distance and you will need glasses for reading and close up work. Your eye will form a film over after time and the film will need to be lazered off . My wife had all the above done and is very happy with the procedure . So it was a success. I wonder if all the UV exposure before the polarized fishing glasses had anything to do with it. He's got none of the risk factors you named either.
