headscan
Has anyone been tying with DNA? Just wondering what kind of flies everyone has been using it for. So far all I've done with it are Clousers, which I think is the most obvious pattern for the stuff.
Guest 420FLYFISHIN
noob questions. is DNA the man made "hair"? A bit stiff like deer hair? if yes, then yes i have but only clousers. I do a bit different pattern but i sent all mine down with Jayhad. It would be cool if they help land a few. I use a much longer hook and give it a body. But same style hook, eyes, and colors. headscan
Yeah, DNA is the white and olive stuff on that Clouser instead of bucktail. It isn't too stiff, but not exactly limp either. The biggest thing for me is that it doesn't hold water, so should be easier to cast and sink faster.

markd
DNA is alright, I've found that Enrico Puglisi (EP) Fibers and EP Silky Fibers is much, MUCH better for flowing in water and getting rid of water..it can form a much wider fly then what you can do with most fibers, giving a much bigger profile that holds it shape in water. The 3D colors just add to it

proflytyer
using that stuff for surf candys and deceivers makes the fish on the bow crazy! P.S. where are you getting it from i am running low on it! (look on tuffleye showcase to see DNA deceivers)

Tungsten
Was at troutfitters and they have a ton of EP fibers .Looks like they have re- stocked all of their tying stuff.
headscan
I took a look at the Enrico Puglisi stuff the other day. It seems interesting, but all the colours I saw were more suited to saltwater so I didn't pick any up. Tried an intruder-style fly with DNA and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. bhurt
Like Max said, I have been using DNA for about the last 6 months and I have found that the stuff work just aswome, use it for almost all my streamers, love using the purple and pink DNA fibers for my Rainbow style clouser and use bucktail for the top and bottom of the fly. Saltwater colors work outstanding on the bow for streamers (3D sand EP clousers are one of the best i've ever fished)
