FlashGordon Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 hey all.. pretty new on here and to the bow and I'm wondering what kinda info you have on the affect of rain or run-off as far as a day like today and fishing tomorrow (for example) .... maybe what works best in these types of condition etc...whatever you want to share in general or detail thx and good fishin will gas prices go up if it keeps raining? grrr Quote
brewingup Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The Elbow was really muddy today. How long does it usually take for the bow / elbow to clear up after rain like this? Quote
Crogg Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Streamers too...(tight to the bank in high water) Quote
rusty Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 IMO one day of rain does essentially nothing. The clarity and temp may change a bit but the effect doesn't last too long this time of year. Right now the Bow is infested with tiny baetis (#18-20). The small nymphs and the dries have been working well, and there are still quite a few caddis around. Quote
Gil Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Out early this morning for a few casts. The river was a bit cloudy with maybe 7 inch visability. Tomorow should be good. Planning to float Mac to Carseland. Quote
DonnieM Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I was out yesterday on the Highwood, and man did I get soaked / snowed on a whole bunch, but the river was alive. Yesterday was all about the streamers for me, and I saw a few rise so I put on a #14 BWO and that did the trick, looked like a small bwo mayfly hatch. Quote
FlashGordon Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 thx for the input guys ....the one day of rain didn't appear to have any affect. nice weekend....managed to snipe a few out of it and a cpl long releases with and without gear back good fishing! Quote
