DonnieM Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 http://www.fishingderbyonline.com/DerbyLis...erbyListingID=5 I wonder if you are allowed to enter a bass tournament with a fly rod? Big ole leach and streamer patterns, sinking tip, could be funny. Probably not I'm guessing, but it would be funny to try Quote
Tungsten Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 why not as long as you follow bc regs .i would love to enter .that would be something if a flyguy won Quote
headscan Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Sage released their two shorter bass rods specifically to meet tournament regs. http://www.sageflyfish.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=83540 Quote
Teck71 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I have seen them in Bass tournaments in Ontario. their placing wasn't well but they are there occasionally. Quote

Took my 5 wt on a trip to Ottawa few years back. Went west of the city north or Carlton place and absolutley hammered bass all day on an olive wooly bugger and wet line. Quote
Bowcane Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I used to take great pleasure in kicking spin fishermens butts during the hex hatch/spinner fall late August back in Ontario. You could out fish them easy 10 to 1. Some years that would be the only time you'd get any much over 16"-18" next to late October/early November. It can be done. Quote
