Anyone ever tried fishing or casting the Scott G2 8'8" in a 3 or 4weight?

Thoughts?

Dean

None on the G2, but I have several G's and one is a 4 wt. I love these rods for dry fly fishing. They are smooth and present beautifully and softly. However, they are not slow and have a good ability to throw line nearly as far as a faster action rod, but with the ability to present soft and short. Lots of but strength for trout fishing. The only instances where a faster action rod would help is if you had strong wind or were throwing streamers. But, that's not what you get a 4 wt G2 for anyway. Can't say enough about the G's. If you like a slower action rod in these situations, then I'm sure you's love the G2.

Cheers,

Mark
