Suntoucher Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I'll be headed out to Kootenay NP for a week this mid July. I'll be meeting up with my family out there (...boring!). Instead I plan to escape as much as possible to get out and do some fishing. I just wanted some feedback about streams and lakes in the area to fish in. Anybody ever fish in Cobb, Olive, Sinclair, Dog or Kaufmann lakes? And what about the streams in the area, any info? Suntoucher Quote
cdock Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Haven't been, just a reminder to be sure to get the proper licenses. I'm sure you've done this just don't want to see a fellow fisher miss something and get in trouble. Have fun! Let us know how it went. Quote
trailhead Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I have fished a number of those, Dog is good for bows and brookies, tough flyfishing due to trees down to the shore. Dolly Varden creek is good for small cutts if you head upstream. The Palliser and Cross rivers are good but you need to drive and mtn bike to the better spots, and the upper reaches of the Kootenay River can be stellar. Quote
Suntoucher Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Trailhead, Have you ever tried Cobb lake? What about any of the small streams between Radium and Dolly Varden creek? Thanks for the info Quote
