firstriddle Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Hello all, Sorry if this question has been asked before. Im making the drive next week and would like to hear some advice on a few rivers to wade on the way with the fly rod. Ill be taking the jasper route. Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks Quote
bloom Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I"ve done this drive a few times and never find anything really interesting (would have to be 'really' interesting too as I've always had the wife and kids) Your best bet may be around chillowack (sp?) Quote
rhuseby Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I've driven out to the coast a number of times but always from Calgary. I don't imagine the rivers will be in good shape next week, but try some of the lakes , especially around the Kamloops-Merritt area. A float tube would be handy for this. Around Chilliwack, the Fraser is very dangerous due to spring run off,and no anadromous fish are running in any numbers. The Chilliwack-Vedder river is closed all of June. Once again , lakes are your best bet. Quote
bloom Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Forgot about the Kamloops Merritt area...even though we always spent the night there and hit some fly shops in the morning. That's definitely where I would stop and fish. Quote
