Waterproof Containers

Anybody use some kind of waterproof containers for their digital cameras?

 

Last time out I had my wifes camera in my vest pocket and while reaching down to try and unsnag myself in thigh deep water I managed to soak the front of my vest including her camera!! Fortunately it's still working.

 

Thinking about getting one of these:

 

 

Has anybody tried one? Know if they work well?

 

I find using a zip lock bag a bit too tedious myself..

Also on eBay, some inexpensive camera bags have been popping up. If you have the money to buy a waterproof camera like the optio WP10/20, go for it. They are a perfect fir for fly fishers.

Mountain Equipment Coop (MEC) has all sorts of Aquapacs for cameras and cell phones. Real nifty!

Can't afford a waterproof camera at this point so i'm looking for a cheaper alternative.

There are underwater housings out there but they can be pricey but not all....I have used several in the past and found that all the ones I tried are awkward to use. Best thing I can suggest is look around and see whats out there used....who knows you may find a used Pentax Optio W 20 or 30 at a decent price that will solve your delma.

the WP10's are nice and not that expensive. If you're in the market for a new camera, it's worth looking at. I've seen them well under 200.00 on ebay. The olympus is also a nice one, I beleive it is also shock proof and can be dropped with no ill effects.
