bloom Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Took the girls out to BH today to check on the ice conditions and there's still at least 30 cm there. Was starting to see it open up around the rocks some, so it's at least receding. Lots of holes out there, 20 vehicles in the parking lot, and 10 groups of people on the ice. Talked to a few and got the impression that things were a little slow. Quote
beedhead Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Thanx for the report...Maybe it won't be too long...If we get some wind and warm weather. 2 weeks?...Maybe... Quote

RandyS Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Hopefully, maybe some open water by the week-end. I can't take this anymore. I can picture it now. 100 people on 50 feet of open shore line Quote
RandyS Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I drove by today again. I don't think there will too much open water if any by the week-end. There was three people ice fishing on it although the shore line is open for about 2 ft. It shouldn't be too long now especially with the warm temps. My truck thermometer said +9 and was a nice sunny day. No wind either. Quote
gravelman Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 And there is global warming my A$$. LAst year i was fishing a private lake in march and a trip to bullshead in early april. Al gore and David suzuki can kiss my gas guzzling pickup A$$. I am going to crank my 900hp genset at work up even earlier so it will thaw my lakes faster. Who wants to bet runoff happens late this year??? Quote
kipper Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I think run offs coming late this year too runoff?..that is a rare commodity in south eastern Alberta. Quote
