lonefisher Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 http://dallairemovie.com/ http://www.whitepinepictures.com/dallairesite/ Just finished this movie For any who have not seen this film yet it is definately worth renting. Based on the book written by Canadian Romeo Dallaire, Its the story of the Genocide in Rwanda and is more worth watching then most of the current drivel coming out hollywood. No gonna retell the whole story here but it makes you wonder. Even has Hooked' Mark Krupa in the cast though he is most definately not his usual bubbly self in this role (see even has a slight FF connecton). wiki has some good info on this sory as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rom%C3%A9o_Dallaire Quote
bigbowtrout Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 The movie is awesome but you really need to read the book. It's a real eye opener and a shame how the Gov of Canada treated him but the biggest shame is the millions of people that died in this conflict but he does an awesome job of pointing out why it happened and who could have stepped up. It's one of those books that will stay with you for life. Quote
brntrut Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 The actual documentary is really well done too. check it out if you get the chance. Quote

fishfreak Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I was actually in Rwanda in July 2007. This country is amazing in so many ways. Can you imagine living amongst those who slaughtered your family... and forgiving them? The people are vibrant, the land is lush, the country is dirt poor, but it's a nation full of hope. They don't consider themselves Hutus or Tutsis anymore, they're all Rwandese. It blew me away, and I came back with a lot. Here are some pics of my trip there: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1853...mp;id=595690165 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1853...mp;id=595690165 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1853...mp;id=595690165 Quote
