nwalker
I am currentley researching chocolate lab breeders in the central Alberta area. I'm not really looking for a show dog, just a good tempered fishing partner. Does anyone have any experience or advice?

Guest bigbadbrent
I'd have to say labs are better tempered then most other dogs. When we had our lab, she was awesome for fishing and camping, just as long as she could be your side she was happy. Our retriever (while he is quite younger...lots of time to mature) is fine for a couple of hours, but then starts dropping sticks upstream, so they float and hit you in the leg..or he starts to whine for attention.... Lotsa time for him to get ol and better tempered though, specially now that we got the best of both worlds as well (lab retriever mix)
