I like this. Can you tell me please what the difference is between standard and ceramic coated copper wire. I have never seen ceramic coated over in England. Quote
Lundvike Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I like this. Can you tell me please what the difference is between standard and ceramic coated copper wire. I have never seen ceramic coated over in England. Ceramic coated wire is used to wrap ferrites to make electomagnets and transformers. The ceramic provides insulation so that wire can be wrapped touching the neighbouring wrap without any conduction. Oh and I use it cause its what I have. My job and schooling involves electronics. Any fine red copper wire would work just as well, but if you are interested I am sure there are electronics component stores or hardware stores that carry this stuff over there as well. I bought it for ~$10 and the roll will last forever Quote
