It seems to be my impression(from what I have read here) that midges are the way to go this time of year and into the winter. Just wondering if you have any suggestions for specific midge patterns I can tie (colors, size)? Also any thoughts on other patterns that are known to pick up fish later in the year? jtaylor Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 additional questions: my problem with fishing a midge nymph is that I can't seem to get a fish to eat one. Any tips? Also, how long do you hold up at a hole this time of year? I usually will probably send 15- 20 mins at a spot chang my fly 2-3 times then move on unless I know there's a beast.
