I've never caught anything with backswimmers, and the season is coming up pretty quick. Any tips on how to fish with backswimmers. Depth? Indicator? Retrieve? Do you swing 'em? Are they mostly found in slow water?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I swing them,if I see a rise cast in front and swing it by.Let it sit a few secs before you start to strip it in.Take a step down stream cast swing repeat steel head style.

Ive also had luck nymphing them in a riffle,i normally tie 2 on of the same pattern, let them swing at the end.I don't bother with an indy.

I also seam to have more luck with patterns that have a tail??So maybe there taking them as caddis not sure but most if not all my September throat samples are boatman.

Read somewhere recently to cast them at rises and expect heavy hits.
