Egg Patterns On The Bow?

I was wondering if during the fall spawn people use egg patterns on the bow? If so what size of egg seems to do it? I have never tried to fish trout egg patterns so I've no clue what they would be like in terms of size.

ive tried some bigger and smaller than a pea..found the smaller fish and whitties didnt mind em too much but i wasnt really knocking em dead. pale yellow and orange were working best. goodluck dude

I've tried egg patterns many times with minimal success. It almost seems like you're lucky to get a fish on one.
