albannachxcuileag Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I was reading the posts to the SBS I did on the Rusty Nail and a thought occurred to me, why don't we have a little challenge to come up with a fly that is named after a drink or cocktail? I am sure that folks can come up with their own creations. Any takers? Quote
Flytyer Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Could be some interesting results on that theme Quote
lonefisher Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I could probably get in on that.... probably be fun Quote
OneMoreLastCast Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Sounds like fun, I'll give it a go too. Quote
ladystrange Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 i read that SBS on the rusty nail. lol it was great. well hell, i'm not doing anything but tying flies anyway. i'll jump in. sounds like fun how long do we have? Quote
albannachxcuileag Posted October 6, 2007 Author Posted October 6, 2007 This is not a time based thing, it is just a suggestion to get those little grey matter things working and see what everyone can come up with. What I may do is post all the different submissions from all the tyers and have both forums vote on what is their favourite. Alternatively, everyone can send their creation to me and I will test drive them all! Above all I am looking for originality in design and to have a direct link with the name that they give to the fly. Who knows, we may end up with some really interesting flies for us all to copy from this. Quote
ladystrange Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 hummm, i have a thought forming. **smell of smoke fills the air** it will be something on the rocks. i just have to figure it out. appropriate both fly wise and alcohol based. too bad i only drink rye and scotch. neither one of them needs to be on the rocks.
