HopperDropper Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I recently visited a friend in Fairmont BC while my wife was in Ottawa. I've never fished these parts before so I had a bit of a tough time trying to figure out the water. We caught mainly whitefish with only the occasional trout here and there. The Kokanee salmon run was just starting in the area so perhaps it displaced the trout from the usual lies. It was a great trip anyhow and I'm planning on making it an annual event. Finley Creek Moose Lake Kootenay River A new Guinness World Record for the smallest rainbow trout caught on a fly... Columbia River. The last fish caught on the trip was a goodie! Quote

Hawgstoppah Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Taco, About 5yrs back I did that in scotch creek, bc (of the shuswap lakes) . It was a sockeye run, and I'd throw an egg pattern towards some salmon, let it slide behind 'em, and slam the unseen rainbows. Some real hawgs too, never knew how big some of those 'bows in shuswap get, but wow Accidentally got one sockeye too, my duaghter thought it was a monster and never went anywhere near water for a least the rest of that trip Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Sorry for the thread hijack. About your smallest fish record. I may have possibly been tied with you, or even have that beat If korban still has the pictures of a tiny whitefish I got one day.... that'd be it. It was all of like 1.5 inches..... HUGE i tell ya Quote
