FraserN Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I have seen several up here in the Northwest. With the white under the chin, it is definitley a mink. Long ago, when you could keep big trout up here, a few of the spin fishermen used to lose their fish to mink. They would stringer the fish, and contintinue fishing. A few hours later, they would come to get the fish, and it would be gone. Quote

Fishers can also sometimes have a white blaze on their chin/chest etc.,and I've never seen a mink with a head the size of a housecat.....then again,I've only skinned a few hundred weasels, mink, marten, fishers and otters combined over the course of 20+ years trapping experience so I'm not eggzakly what you'd call a qualified expert with a bunch letters after my name.
