Grey's Gla 100 (7/8/9) Composite Fly Reel?

I have a chance to get this reel but am wondering if I should pass on it and get something different? The rod I am wanting to put it on is a gloomis xperience 5wt.

 

I know that it is a larger reel but will it be suitable for this rod since it is a composite material making it alot lighter then an aluminum?

 

Any info on the reel is greatly appreciated.

I have the GX300. For the price, I think it is fantastic. Cost me like $65.00 or something. Seems very similar to the 100 (same drag and general look), but the GX is aluminum.
