Come down to Zyn and join us discover the world of Beer. We will have 65 to 85 different beer open for your tasting pleasure. We will be trying Craft Brews from Canada, United States, Belgium, United Kingdom and many others. Background on Martin Imagine yourself living in beautiful Pemberton, BC, the perfect place to enjoy your outdoor passions which are paragliding, back-country skiing, mountain biking and climbing. You have a job that you love as park ranger, you are energetic and in great physical shape, basically life is pretty damn good. The next day, you go to the doctor to check out a pain in your side and your life changes forever. The doctors tell you that you have cancer and are given a diagnosis of Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). They tell you that the rest of your life is to be counted in months rather than years. This was the news that confronted our good friend, Martin Holloway, earlier this year and his life was changed dramatically. Over this time Martin has heroically confronted adversity and has not allowed his illness to take away his enthusiasm and passion for the things he loves. He has chosen to see his illness as an opportunity to journey inward and has developed an appreciation for the gift of life and for living from moment to moment. However anyone facing a battle against cancer is also faced with financial realities that cannot be ignored. This is where the beer tasting fundraiser comes in. 100% of the funds raised from this event will be provided directly to Martin for a number of items that have been critical to his treatment including: therapeutic treatments such as acupuncture and massage nutrition including organic foods and prepared meals financing trips to visit family and friends We certainly hope that you and your friends can attend this event.
