Hi there

I haven't been tying long any the majority is dries. I am looking at tying nymphs now and need some advice.

What do you rather use on nymphs, Ice dub or Antron?

The dubbing I have now is Super Fine and Hairs Ear plus dubbing (Antron for sparkle)

Thanks for the help

Since you already have some Hares Ear Plus, I'd use that for the imitations, and Ice dub for the attractors. Antron's great for dries, but looks a little plain on nymphs for me. But a little bit of white antron yarn can go a long way towards simulating air bubbles.

Thats what I was leaning towards. Have you used Dave Whitlock SLF Dubbing if so how do you like it and is it somewhat similar to antron?

it all depends on what nymphs i tie! super clear water i like a dull hairline dubbing but mostly for the bow i use ice dub! dont use pheasent tails anymore just brown ice dub, peackock icedub for prince nymphs and the grey(cant remembver the name) for my hairs ears n so on... but having some antron or hares ear dub on some patterns can be key.. the crow is a winter stream that i feel not too sparkly nymphs at times (right now after a summer season with tons of anglers) can help no trip out some ofthe skittish fish!
