Join Fish Tales on Friday, August 13 at 8 p.m. for the official launch of G-Loomis' NRX Series. Fish Tales is proud to be one of only two retailers in Western Canada to host an official launch of the G-Loomis NRX fly rod lineup.

From the G-Loomis website -

"The NRX is the culmination of what we have been doing at G.Loomis since day one. We have been continually striving to build the best rod on the planet. Laminates, resin, mandrels, components and the know how you expect from us. These NRX rods look like nothing we have built before. They feel better than anything we have built before. We aren't talking about a little better here or a little lighter there...

What we are saying so there is no confusion... " This is the Best Fly Rod Ever Built!" Period!!"

to hear Steve Rajeff, chief rod designer, explain some of the wow appeal of the NRX rods.

Launch starts at 8 p.m. Please email the shop if you're planning to attend (to help us plan for food/drink.)

G-Loomis Pro-staffer Rick Whorwood will be in town for the launch of G-Loomis' NRX series.

Many of you will recognize Rick from his attendance at past Western Canada Fly Fishing Expo's.

From Rick's website....

"With fly rod in hand, Rick has pursued Atlantic salmon in Norway and Canada's eastern provinces. He's sought after steelhead in British Columbia and on the tributaries of the Great Lakes. Rick has saltwater fished the eastern seaboard from Kennebec Maine to the Florida Keys. In the summer months, you can find him searching for trout, bass, carp, pike and even pan-fish on his local streams and lakes.

For over two decades he has been an accomplished fly tyer and fly fisher. Rick has been profiled or published articles in: The Toronto Globe and Mail, The Hamilton Spectator, Fly Tyer, Fly Fusion and The Atlantic Salmon Journal to name a few. A guest tier and speaker throughout Canada and USA his flies have been highlighted in many books and periodicals. In 2004, Canada Post commissioned Rick to tie a Full Dressed Jock Scott. The reproduction was replicated and released on Canadian ¢.50 stamp in February 2005.

As a member of the “hand picked” G.Loomis focus group Rick influenced the design of the G.Loomis Roaring River Two-Hand Rods, which were unveiled in September 2004 at the Fly Dealers Tackle Show in Denver Colorado. As a Master Single Hand and Two Hand Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers, he has spent many hours teaching the art of fly-casting by providing casting courses to novices and experts alike."

Rick will be on hand to answer your technical questions about the NRX series during Friday night's NRX worldwide launch.

Please let us know if you're planning to attend.

In the words of a famous movie "There Here"!

Come on by after 7pm tonight to give these rods a cast if you like. We will have refreshments and some food from local restaurants to help make this a great get together. We have a selection of rods ranging from 3wt through 12wt all with reels and lines ready to cast.

The perk loomis is offering is a free soft shell jacket (we sell it for $150) to everyone who orders a rod during this first week of the launch. All of the ones we have are demo rods for casting durning this event so that fly fishers can get a good feel for them. Hopefully the rain stops this afternoon, which it is supposed to, and will allow some good conditions for everyone to try out these rods. I've only cast two of them so far and will be interested in peoples reaction.

Hope to see you there.

David
