bjbailey Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Hey Everyone, Fish Creek Park was entirely empty aside from two other gentlemen. I certainly enjoyed the vacant banks while I cruised looking for rising fish. While this guy is not the most impressive brown, the pursuit was rather fun. He was feeding in 5 inches of water about 6 inches from the bank hiding out behind a rock deflecting the current. Given a stong back eddy between me and the fish it was touch to get the drift right. Complicating things further the wind kept pushing my fly out too far from the bank. I ended up having to over compensate for the wind by casting my line up onto shore next to him shooting enough slack leader to swing the fly drag free around in the back eddy. Turns out, he liked that and took the 18 BWO. I hope I uploaded the picture correctly; my apologies if I did not. Quote
Heimdallr Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nice fish. Don't you love it when a plan comes together? Quote
jimvel Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Was on FC in the PM. Slow to start but found 2 - 3 browns 10 ft of shore. Chased a few flys but no luck. Moved up stream a couple himdred yards and hit a pool 20 feet off shore. Fun action for 40 minutes viewing browns chased a hares ear. Landed 1 white and two brown. Too much fun. Going to the upper Bow today. Quote
ÜberFly Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Out of curiousity, what do you mean by "upper bow"?! FYI if you mean the NW Calgary section that is closed until June 1st!! P Was on FC in the PM.
