Cutman Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 I am doing a bonefish trip this winter and was wondering if anyone uses a 9 ft., 8-weight on the Bow for streamers? I use either a 4 or 6 wt. rod right now. If I can use it all the time, then I mvight spend a little more on a better rod. maxwell Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 i use my 8wt for streamers on teh bow, bulltrout, pike things like that! 8wts can be a good tool in alberta for pushing larger flies with les effort! 7wts arnt bad either.. but a 8 will do ya god bor bones (from what ive bin told) plus the fish ive listed above and some salmon species on teh coast too!!!! wingshooter Posted November 1, 2009 Share Posted November 1, 2009 Get a 10 footer you won't regret it. Eight weights are good for pacific salmon (coho and sockeye) steelhead and atlantic salmon.
