Anyone Using An 8-weight On The Bow?

I am doing a bonefish trip this winter and was wondering if anyone uses a 9 ft., 8-weight on the Bow for streamers? I use either a 4 or 6 wt. rod right now. If I can use it all the time, then I mvight spend a little more on a better rod. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a little more power when checking streamers in a wind.

Any suggestions welcome.

i use my 8wt for streamers on teh bow, bulltrout, pike things like that! 8wts can be a good tool in alberta for pushing larger flies with les effort! 7wts arnt bad either.. but a 8 will do ya god bor bones (from what ive bin told) plus the fish ive listed above and some salmon species on teh coast too!!!!
