  1. I'm looking forward to it as well. The only thing that i would suggest is that we dio it a little earlier this year so the park is open till 10. It closing last year at 8 was a real bummer. It would give us more time to chat and hand out. We still had wood left to burn man....thats just wrong  . was a good expirience for my kids as well to learn to help out the enviroment.

  2. well we made it back...all though is is to snow, cold and no playoff hockey. Piss me off. I never got to go fishing. Had it booked and the captain cancelled because of rough water to days in a row and then we ran out of time. Oh well. we'll be back next year. It sure is beutifull there and alot different atmosphere than Cancun. I hear that it is safer there as well. I will post a couple of pics later. I told everybody i talked to about our river and what a gem it was. The captain of the fishing boat had even heard of it.

  3. Hola from Playa Del Carmen. It`s hot as hell here and i^m burnt to a crisp. Have not had a chance to go fishing yet but we talked to some people here that went and they got 2 marlins. Pic`s looked awsome. Really wavy though and they have cancels some trips so we might not do it. Will depend on the wife. Nice fish Rick. I will post some pics when we get back. I sure miss our river. Heard it snowed on thursday....HAHA:::..31 here that day. Later ..Ed

  4. I would hypothicize that it looks like deep tissue line damage (really bad line cut). With a combination of tight thin line, twisting of the fish and a hard run at the wrong time (for the fish) could of done that. Wound is fresh and wraps around the body a bit. My CSI viewing experience would lead me to say damage from a sharp object would not have inflicted a wound of that shape either.

so to sum up your csi opion:

  5. ya those shots are great. My boy is 6 and he loves to go fishing. Only trolling the lake right now but i'm thinking of getting him a kid's fly rod. I think i heard they make those. That second shot looks like when i first got my sinking tip line.

  6. ya for sure..but i spent the money on a sink line for my extra spool so that's what i use, and like i said there was no need to change. It was nice not to have to go through the box to find what was working.

  7. Nice Ed!

Did you try a leech? I drifted one for a bit today, but in looking at your pictures I need to go a bit bigger.

ya...i threw one of those ones in the picture on but i didn't catch anything and it was hard to get off because of my barbs  No i didn't have my sink line or i might have tried one. What i had on was working pretty well so i didn't feel a need to change.

Fishfreak: It sure was nice to catch it on something i tied, if you can call wrapping wire around a hook tying. I can see why it is so addictive to you all.

  8. hey i was just looking at that pic a little closer. Is that a cutbow? those pics of the worms and leech's made me remember that there was 2 leech's on my camera when i took that pic. They where just fallin out everywhere. Greedy pig.

  9. Went out to the river today. It was smokin...Lost a couple of real dozies and landed 10. Caught my first fish with a worm that i tied. That felt freakin awsome. Tied it with a pair of vise grips. Thanks Wetduck for helping set me up with the materials. Lots of big fish today and all real spunky. Worm and caddis did the trick.

Not hard to tell what this guy was eating. All that *hit in the second pic fell out of his mouth when i was taking hook out.
