Just wondering if anyone has any good reccomendations for breeders. Specfically looking for a black lab, with good hunting lines. I'm in Calgary but willing to travel pretty much anywhere in the province.

Nice shiny 1895 Hoss. .45-70 or .450?
45-70 shooting the 405 grainers by remington, its the guide gun 18.5 inch barrel...They didnt make the 450 in the shorter barrel. Have you seen the new 1895 SBL (stainless big loop)...it is amazing, although I've heard they have been having problems with the extractor.

Looking to get one for between 2-3 hundred, thinking of going with pioneer or alpine(I've heard they are the best). I really only need cd/ipod hookup, no satellite radio or junk like that.
Anybody got any models they would recommend?

Oh ya!!!!! Well my 45" pike caught while FLY FISHING beats the hell out of yer hard water hog.
And my dad can also beat up your dad just to keep the sillyness up to par with this post. hehehe

meh, pike on the fly is fun in there own aspect..but a skinny gross looking pike after ice off isnt what im looking for...girth x girth x girth before the spawn

Why does it have to be a trout fishery?? What is wrong with it being a Perch fishery??
there are no predators in the lake to keep perch #'s down, they are starting to stunt. Soon it will be a 4 inch perch fest in there, with skinny 12 inch rainbows. That aint no fun...

We need permission from the lake. We are hoping the person responsible will end up paying for the problems caused by the perch.
Now to find the egg supplier... That is the tough one.
Ya, I'm sure the 8 year old kids who brought a bucket of perch from midnapore to sundance 15 years ago will be energetic about that idea. lol...
Best thing that could happen now is poision the lake and start all over, which will never be given the go ahead.

theres fish that big and bigger in our neighbouring province(sask) except they have grown to that size naturally(still triploids)...
they fight excellent too..

these suckers would be killed, and frozen as soon as i get home...
the idea of buying smelts at canadian tire is good except for the fact that they dont sell em big enough. Preferably I am looking for 12-16 inch suckers.
as for the transfering of diseases to other water sheds..I think a month in the freezer should solve that???
any other sucker hotspots would be appreciated

anyone been getting suckers on the bow or any small streams within 2 hours of cowtown?? lookin to get a few 8-16 inch suckers for icefishing.

awesome fish, not sure if you do care about the record or not but what we do at my lodge up north for big lakers is use chatillon scales and weigh the net.
