Great! Looks like an awesome magazine.

 

Someone should tell the webmaster to play down the "Best viewed" and the "Update your browser" bit on the splash screen. They are goona have a high bounce rate on that splash page due to people thinking they have to update/change browser settings to view the site.

 

A splash screen is counter productive to begin with and if you don't have text or a button saying "Click to enter" or something of that sort on it you start to lose visitors quickly. Having browser update info and screen resolution requirements makes them leave even faster.

 

I have a decent background in internet marketing and believe me that this advice is something they should consider.

You can never go wrong with Caddis Pupa of course.

I tie mine with tan bodies and Claret heads instead of the standard Greens and they seem to work.

 

I'm with you on this one. I use golden pheasant tail for these which results in a tan body. I have had much luck on them also.

Usually when I'm practicing. I rarely cast that far when I'm fishing.

Hey fellas. I have a question that I havnt seen answered before (I searched the old site). Now that I am comfortable throwing all my fly line I am able to even shoot a bit of backing on really long casts. My question is, does the backing have the potential to wear down the snakes (guides)? We all know the flyline is coated with super duper slip stuff but backing is rather coarse, or at least mine is.

 

Any thought about this? Is there special backing you can buy just for this?

I would like to ask you expert tiers where the best place to buy materials are? I am planning on hitting Calgary on Saturday to round up some mats for a CDC caddis dry pattern, golden stone and a Clouser minnow. Is there any one place where I wont have trouble finding every thing I need?
