  1. Getting so close to getting on the water now. I was helped out from here with some waders and boot!! Now Im ready. But I was wondering about refelting the boots that I bought. They are used but that no biggie just wondering if there is a place In town that refelts and what a price tag would be. I bet it would make for a bit if a more comfortable walk. Is it a real easy thing to do it yourself? Just a few questions cause I always have them

  2. i was just thinking that it could be a good little project to take on in the not to close future, i just like having those type of things to do after work and such. i was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Like the cost of making one and time frame from start to finish. i know that this is a hard question to answer cause each to there own. but there must be a kinda rough idea. and i was in fish tales asking about the course they have and the lad told me it is about 200 dollars for everything you need.

its hard to even find videos on youtube about it.

this is more curiousness then anything else but who know i might want to try it one day.

  3. I make all my own food packs, day hikes i just make trail mix (dehydrate all kinds of fruit to mix in). Multi day i make food packs (pasta, rice, quinoa, potatoes). One of my favorite meals (very simple) is basically rice (instant), soup base, dehydrated veggies (zucchini, onions, sometimes broccoli) and dehydrated burger (seasoned, browned, preferably elk or game as low fat preserves well). Cooks in about 10 minutes on my whisperlight, just add water. Its almost as good as a fresh made dinner after hiking all day.

Do you have a dehydrator to make this yourself or do you buy all the ingredients?

  4. So I bought this kit online to Ty them hair caddis. I have never dealt with elk hair before but it seems like this is a terrible patch. There is to y bits of fuzz all through it and the color is a dark brown with only tiny white tips. Is this what elk hair is sappost to be like?

  5. I know it was just every I called was closed. I'm planing on going to fish tales tomorrow. It was just I wanted to know f places did this service. I feel like a jerk taking a reel and line I did t buy at this shop and asking them to do the work. But I am going to go to fish tales cause I have heard nothing but great things

  6. So I got a sweet reel off this site. Thanks for that! It is setup for left handed retrieval I figured out how to change the bearings on it but I have to strip the line and then whined it the opposite way. I called bass pro cause fish tales was closed and they will put new line on for free I wonder will they strip it and put it on the opposite way.

This now means all I need is waders and luck so I hook a big one

  7. I have been on Alberta now for about six months and have started hiking in the mountains more and more. I was wondering when you guys go on day or even multiple day hike do you bring things like bear spray or a giant crocadle don dee knife with you. I'm not worried about big animals till they get close I guess. Haven't seen one yet and I do hope to see them from afar
