Anyone out there know of a decent editing program for the camera.
Have a ton of footage that I want to condense down & throw away the rest.
BTW how's the bow looking guy's ?
Not much info since I left a week ago for a pike adventure up north.
If I can get it together I'll post some footage from the trip.
Thanks .
i use final cut pro for my editing. mind you im a total noob for editing video.

Get a scadden and you won't regret it

I have a 10.5 foot scadden pontoon and its nice I think it tracks better than a 8 foot buck bags that I used before. A couple guys I floated with had 8 or 9 foot fish cats and they seem to manage on the bow just as fine. I guess for longer trips the bigger toon is better because you can load more stuff like bags and tents etc

You should switch the sage 9'6" for the bIIIx 9'6" its the best rod in the series.
broke the tip off my sage so i replaced it for the winston b3x 9'6wt
because of you guys i even got a 3 wt because i thought i could use this summer on smaller creeks when i go for hikes
so here is the updated collection
8'6" Winston BIIIx 3wt
8'6" Winston BIIIx 4wt
9' Winston BIIIx 5wt
9' Winston BIIIx 6wt
9'6" Sage Z axis 6wt (backup)
13'3" Winston BIIx 7/8wt
Finally a complete set. whew

The worst is when you have a fish on the line and your tippet breaks above the first hook. Those are the times you can hear me swearing pretty bad

Just wanted to know how many flies you guys normally lose one day fishing. I probably lose about 5 or so.

take it into fishtales and they will send it off for you. it cost 55 bucks at fishtales

I was looking at the Hardy Fortuna x2 reel for my spey rod. opinions and experiences?

I took my car to Canadian tire. It was a bc car. Cost 204 taxes all in.
They were gonna charge me 150 to take my tint off or it would fail. so I took it off myself before inspection

I was trying to convince the wife that I needed a new 8 - 10wt for tarpon and while cleaning the fishing room we found a 486 RLP that I have NEVER used. My chance at getting a new salt water stick disappeared.
i found a way around it. my wife always complains i never do anything to suprise her anymore so in one shot i bought two winston bIIIx and didn't tell her. when she saw the credit card bill she got mad but i said SUPRISE!!!!
i wonder if the divorce papers are on the way yet lol

What about a heavy stick for throwing streamers?
It will never stop, I'm very seriously thinking of buying a Sage One 390 this week, my 4wts and 2wt just are to light or to heavy
don't tell my wife that it will never stop lol

i don't really fish salt water, mainly rivers and streams in alberta and bcYou still need pike and salt water rods !! lol
planning to maybe one day. i was looking into the winston bamboo's but for the time being i feel these rods will sufficeNo 3 wt?

Finally after hours and hours of research and thousands of spent dollars and millions of casts i finally have my complete set of rods. It might not be as many as most people have but I feel for everything I fish I covered it all.
If anyone is interested these are them:
8'6" Winston BIIIx 4wt
9' Winston BIIIx 5wt
9'6" Sage Z axis 6wt
13'3" Winston BIIx 7/8wt
I guess I'm mostly a winston guy

apparently winston puts fighting butts on its bIIIx from 9'6" 5 wt and up. to get anythign without would have to be made custom for 80 bucks more and a 4 week wait. i just avoided the decision and wait all together and bought me the 9' 5 wt without
-
what are your opinions on this. Im looking at buying a new rod and am torn on this.
Particularly im looking at the 9'6" 5wt winston bIIIx and the only ones i can find are with a fighting butt.
Honestly i don't see a need for this, i have a 6 wt with no fighting butt and another 4wt bIIIx with no butt and didn't notice a need

I recently switched my SA GPX taper line for a SA Sharkskin GPX taper.
Today i fished with it and WOW i should have used this line earlier.
The only negative is the sound it makes through the guides and the gary (minus the r) colors they come in.
The positives are it picks up nicely off the water and i can cast with it much smoother.
Anyone else use these sharkskin lines? What do you think?

Anyways.
how about the weather today? so nice out that if it wasn't for all the ice and wind i would've been floating down the bow today in my pontoon

Hey are there many people who float down the bow in pontoons? i have floated a couple times with a rental but i just purchased my own Dave Scadden recently and wanted to know if there are any sites or groups that do floats together. floating with other people is much funner!
If you got a pontoon and do float the bow and are looking for people to possibly split the shuttle cost please post on here or pm me
