Found this one while poking around Youtube, a little bit of poetic justice for for ripping up the Elbow in early spring. That water looks mighty cold!
Wow, that could of been a real bad situation and you say its poetic justice. You should be ashamed of yourself.

But the same issue regarding identity would exsist elsewhere as well..
Ya, I understand that. But what is the point of putting the regs on 1 creek out a bunch? If that is the reason why they did it, you would think they would follow through with those regs on all waters containing brook/bull trout
-
I think the guy is wondering why quirk creek specifically has 0 limit on brook trout. There are other places with brook trout and bull trout where you can keep brook trout.

I prefer an XL bobber (oops, indicator) with a size 2 red sjw.

So much for no accidents in Alberta.

"special" case for "special" folks.....

I have heard the argument from the guys who like to wear camo that they would rather NOT be seen by other hunters. An orange toque could be enough to catch someones attention and then shoot at the moving bush. Just some food for thought...

pellet feed stockers, sorry I meant triploids
For someone who put up pictures of brood stock this is an interesting comment.

fear no deer

I'd like your reference for your "facts". If that was true, why does Alberta not require hunters to wear blaze orange any longer? At one time hunters had to wear blaze orange, now we no longer do. Why would they change the law if it actually could be proven to save lives? Most hunting accidents are the result of an accidental discharge, not being mistaken for wildlife.
x2..show us the facts!

I kinda doubt calling him poor in front of his family was helpful.
x2, surprised you didnt get smacked around for that. Unfortunately if its legal, there is not much you can do about it. Albertas fishing reg's are so far behind, just look at limits for walleye and pike. They encourage you to keep the spawners???

which one is yours sjw?

And this is why working in retail sucks....

Regardless of where you fish, if it runs through private land always go and ask first.
I have yet to have a problem if I do that. If they aren't home, go fish a different area and come back another time. This whole thing probably could have been avoided if you had done that.
He would rather spend hours researching instead...

in fact polimans flats is privately owned- it is technaiclly an island.
the prive islands are unfortunalty not well mapped, but i understand there are couple others along the way - typically they are posted.
There are lots, they are not mapped, and you dont know which ones they are...huh?

And the time you wasted looking for an answer you already knew................ priceless

Where do we go to take the test?
-
Firstly, don't net suckers or whitefish. Secondly, nets are SUPPOSE to smell like fish!

Just don't park on the right hand side when your heading south(unless you park in the ditch). There is a nice paved area access to a gate with no parking signs and you always seem to see some yuppie with a bmw or other sports car who wouldn't want to get grass on his tires. This is how access is lost, please don't do it.

Noticed the last while on a few boards that many fisherman don't have a clue as to what type of fish species they are catching. I've seen some pictures of fish that are very easily identifiable, yet the people are misidentifying them. If you catch and release, I guess this really does not matter. It seems strange to me that a fisherman would spend hundreds, if not thousands on gear and not be able to identify the different species of trout. Maybe we need a mandatory test before you are allowed to buy your win card/fishing license for the first time. What is every bodies thoughts?

Most farmers are more than willing to give out permission to shoot gophers, you just have to ask! Although I wouldnt be seen shooting that 22, might be last time they allow ya out there.

Relax fish4trout, if they want my money, they'll have to work for it a little. I don't mind paying the extra to get some better service at different shops - hence my post here.
fair enough

Into the fly fishing section, i find the reels - the guy that was working there looked at me, just wandered around, nobody else in there and I stood there looking like an idiot by the counter.
Cat got your tongue? If someone is standing there doing nothing, why dont you just ask to look at a reel? Some people these days lack social skills big time, and then come home and complain about it on the internet(that will surely work!). I'm not saying they have good service, but sometimes if you ASK they will be more than happy to help.

I'd guess that a call to the store would work better than posting on the forum...
