@Bandi - Thx Bandi, nice lens you have there - I haven't tried taking mine in the shower haha. Is that lens the coffee mug? =)

@Heimdallr - Thanks! Ya I agree that framing & cropping of pictures can be very challenging. In the past I would end up just snapping pictures like a tourist and hoping for the best, however I've learned that if you give that extra minute of thought to have some sort of mental picture of how you want the picture to turn out then it can go a long way.
@flyon - Ya Slovenia is a beautiful country, I was only able to explore it for 3 days but it was amazing how the water was so clear and full of fish. Most of these pictures were shot with a t2i along with the stock lens (18-55mm) that comes with it. I recently picked up a Canon 24-105mm L lense that I plan to play around with, and I thought flyfishing was an expensive hobby to get into!

Well as spring is just around the corner, I’d like to share some of my moments from 2010. It was a great year overall, I had the opportunity to explore a ton of new water and lands with some buddies. The pictures below are not ALL fish unfortunately; however I’ve found that it’s not always the fish that make the experience memorable; a lot of the time it is the journey that we undertake to catch those fish that is what we remember. Enjoy, and I would appreciate any feedback, critiques, etc.
Sometimes it can just be a little to cold to fish.

Bcube, what are your intentions with the t2i/t3i? Reason that I ask is because if you just plan on using it for photos, I would recommend the t1i. If you do plan on using the video, the t3i includes an articulating screen which I feel would be very useful for video, also the manual levels adjustment for their audio. I own the T2i, I was originally looking at the T1i but I wanted some decent video capability. Overall I'm quite happy with it, a great bang for the buck.
One other route you could take if money is a big issue; some of the photography forums that I'm on I've seen people trying to offload their used t2i for around 500-600 dollars to upgrade to the t3i - (www.photography-on-the-net.com)
If you are set on going the route of new, then there is a website called www.photoprice.ca that will do a price comparison within canada where you can get it the cheapest. I went this route, and ordered my camera online instead of buying locally, I was able to get it cheaper.

You all know that serious athletes always know where they are on the playing surface, chara knew exactly where he was, timed it perfectly. You can see him waiting for the perfect moment to deliver that hit.
Exactly, he's played probably thousands of games. Its pretty ignorant to think that when you line up a hit like that, that it won't end bad.

the flames have been the best team in the league since xmas and the highest scoring team in the entire league since January 1st. Be very afraid canucks fans. Your team has been getting soft and are ripe for a first round upset.
Not too worried, Canucks have a 3-1 series advantage, and the one game that Calgary did win was a weak ass goal in the shootout. I really hope the Nucks play the Flames in the first round, it will be a good confidence booster for them going into the 2nd round and a wakeup call to Flames fans that they do not have a team that can take them deep into the playoffs.

From what I saw the puck was about 60 feet away when he got nailed, there was no need at all for the hit. Even worse is that there was no suspension given out, perhaps because Colin Campbells son plays in Boston?
Oh ya...BTW go NUCKS. Best chance that Canada has of bringing home the cup this year no matter what y'all say!

LOL ya Chara sure showed why he is the "best" d-man tonight, his team is down 4-0 and throws a hit like that.

I have the Garmin Dakota 20 and have enjoyed it thus far (Oregon's little brother). Main reasons why I bought it is because of its size (nice and small ), very rugged (has a rubberish outside & I purchased a invisishield for the screen) so it should be able to take quite a beating and I can drop it in water without worrying, and it is cheaper than the Oregon. The touch screen is responsive and I find the navigation of the units menus and maps very intuitive.
I paid just over 300 for it online.

Good question, I was trying to think what the complaints would be about cause I couldn't find any. Looks like Uber answered that.

Those comments were probably from fishermen in Alaska complaining about how he compares the fish in Kamchatka to there. That said, I thought the film was great, I prefer when a film gives you some laughs.

Anyone have a suggestion for a waterproof breathable jacket for hitting the river for less than $150? Thanks guys!
I spent $75 on a jacket from MEC that has been going strong for 2 years, has a liner and 4 pockets. I've had it through all sorts of storms and it has survived a ton of bush whacking. Will probably get another one if this one goes down.

I've had mine for about 2 years now and have slept through everything (dry, rain, snow) on all sorts of terrain and absolutely love it. Takes me less than 5 minutes for setup/tear down. Your not lugging any poles, back matt or any of that other stuff needed in a tent. I also took it on a backpacking trip through Europe and it worked great. The only downside which I haven't run into yet is that you need 2 trees/posts that are atleast 5inches in diameter.
As for bags, I'm a pretty big fan of MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop) and spent quite a while in there finding a bag that fit well to my body and was the right size.

My boots are Korker guides, I like em a lot. They fit me perfectly and have held up amazingly well but they're not as sturdy as the Simms wife has though. I'm surprised that Simms hasn't came out with a replaceable sole boot.
I have the guides too, got them last spring and they pretty much fell apart this past weekend. With the experience I had, along with some buddies who have owned korkers, the life expectancy on these boots just aren't up to par. I'm not too sure what brand I'm going to try next....hopefully something that can with stand atleast 2 years of back country fishing....suggestions anyone?
