  1. wow, thats horible. I wouldn't have held my cool like that I can promise that. I can bet that about 90% of us on this forum all have a spin set-up in our closet or garage. Doesn't matter when it was used last, I bring mine everytime I go out. It stays in the trunk most of the time but if it gets to windy to cast properly, I'm still learning and I don't like the sound of the hook wizzing past my ear lobe, I bring it out still and toss a spinner or two. It's not the end of the world I honestly hope your kid gets back out there, Good luck. Perhaps we need a spin rod day just to show him that other people fish with them too and thats it's not a bad thing. just an idea
  2. just my 2 cents, but everytime i have gone fishing there hasn't been a soul around. maybe it's because i like to fish stupid early morning, and dusk. We all know that fish only ever bite early afternoon on saturdays and sundays and only beside parks... maybe its not the places you fish but the times. I don't want to stand 30 feet from someone else either but I'm also going to go that extra mile or so, and by that i mean not try to fish at the same time as a *hit load of people are going to try tubing downstream, or the father and son duo(which for the record still makes me smile when i see a young kid casting for the first few times, or the look when they think they have a bite) are out for a afternoon. Okay so some remote spots are getting crowded, but have you actually read the regs book. it practically tells you which parts of the water systems yeild which size of fish. So maybe there is an arguement for internet forums adding to the crowding, but think about the other sources too. I gaurentee I could walk into bass pro, and play dumb with the guys there and get 5 different spots in 5 minutes. try it one day. For the love of god let this topic go....
  3. I work monday to friday, 8-5. I have no problems going early one morning, or after work one day. I want to do some night fishing, stick to it until after dark. I am looking for new places to go on the bow so anytime i get out is a good time...
  4. excellent advice, as I am also very early in my rookie year, about 3 days into it, lol. Thanks. FNG, we should head out one morning, from one rookie to another, we can't make each other look bad....
