  1. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will be using this is salt water so I'm wondering how people who use these types of cameras in salt water take care of them? If you rinse them after having them in salt water does it help to keep them working longer?

I just rinse it off with freshwater after wards and open and close the lens cover with water running. Mines been used in saltwater many times over the last 5 years.

  2. Maybe it doesnt apply to waterways?

This is the part I found interesting.

  3. Marquis Spas also has full insulation. The only downside to full insulation is if you get a leak its going to be difficult to find and repair. Ive had one for 10 years and the only thing we had to replace was the heating coil, which was 100 bucks. Ours gets used almost daily in the winter and is still pumping. Im not sure who sells them in calgary anymore though.

  4. great campsite down at police outpost lake with some awesome fishing absolutly beautiful scenary areas to hike arount and bike with family would be my first choice. If you decide to go send me a pm and i'll point you in the right direction to some flowing water that is worth the stop on your way there. If you Google map it it gives fairly good directions.

Police sounds like a good idea Ive always wanted to head down there. Thanks.

  5. Excellent poll smitty. Thanks.

Okay, so only 24 have voted (hardy Gallup stuff), but what I find incredibly confusing is that when there is an "eco-enviro-climate-regulatory-enforcement-habitat-forestry" thread here people tend to want to burn the federal and provincial PCs at the stake. "They don't protect the rivers, forests, riparian areas, etc etc etc...."

Yet given the platforms of the parties, WRP might be considered to be less eco-friendly than the PCs. WRP is way more to the economic right and more social conservatives ... way more so than the PCs. According the party platorms the AB PCs are middle of the road and only slightly to the economic right.

So if find the poll results not consistent with common comments on the forum.

Lordy! Don't tell me you guys think Danielle is a hotty and yer voting with yer hormones? Say it ain't so. :P

Not that I will be voting NDP but

"Mason also committed to declaring the Castle Special Place in southwestern Alberta a protected park."

  6. Here's the scenario:

I have my TV/DVD/PVR running through my receiver into the TV with one HDMI Cable. It's set up on one of those "One" remotes. I want to add another component (XBOX) but don't want to program the remote and do want to run it through my receiver into my TV to get the sound out of my receiver (speakers) and not my TV. I think I should be able to just run an HDMI Cable from the XBox into the back of my receiver and then another one from the back of my receiver into an available output on my TV and as long as I match the appropriate input into the TV it should be good to go, right?

If one cable from your receiver to Tv does all the rest it should do the same with the xbox, one from xbox into receiver, you will just have to manually switch the receiver to the xbox input if you don't want to program the remote. All inputs into the receiver should be output from the one HDMI if that makes sense.

  7. Sean84,

Acetate Floss [typical fly tying floss] will dissolve in Acetone. This will allow you to make realistic imitations of maggots by the use of white floss.

The process is to dunk the completed fly into acetone till the floss just starts to melt. Remove and shake dry.

Acetone is also used as a solvent for some kinds of cement although toluene works better. Toluene is commonly called lacquer thinner and is a member of the BETX series of aromatic hydrocarbons that have linked to cancer. Toluene is the lesser risk than benezene which composes <>2% of the gasoline @ your local service station.

The message here - something is out to get ya'.

    regards,

    Don

Oh interesting, i never realized that, its there other flies that use this concept. Also If you tie down some chenille then wrap with floss would that work or would it degrade the floss to much to hold the chenille or break it down as well?
