  1. Monger, yes we went to the Morice/Bulkley...not the Babine. Kevin is heading to the Babine late October, so look for pics after that.

SilverDoctor...yes it is a great area, even if you have to look over your shoulder now and then....BEARS!!!

We had great weather and really good, in my opinion, fishing. We landed about 30-35 fish for the week. My brother-in -law was a big help. He lives in Burns Lake and helped us the first few days.

Good times, good company and...good fishing....looking forward to next year.

  2. rob,

the guide had us using hook side up flies....clouser type, crayfish, and the like. the one that caught most of the fish were a copper upside down zonker. carp are ultra spooky. a cast 30 feet above them could make them pull of the bank, an achor 'quietly' lowered into the water, 50 feet away, to fish to 'risers', would put them all down.....wwayyy spookier than trout. as much as i am a dry fly person, the carp we fished to were in 6 inches to 4 feet of water...tailing, gulping in the foam, mudding...very cool stuff. i would recommend it to anyone.

btw, after more than 20 years of fishing the mo', this year is in the top 5 for fishing....dries everyday, all day. in 7 days, we shallow water nymphed for about 10 minutes.

    good times!

  3. sallinger...i'm sure there are a lot of good guides there, but no doubt if you can get greg, you won't be disappointed. he will also tell interesting tid bits of relevent and non-relevent, but interesting, information surrounding the river.

monger...ya, greg has a tape measure on his net and we caught some in the 22 inch range. the fish, on average, have been longer and thicker the last couple years.

420...i've been going there for over twenty years and your right, that river for about 25 miles runs you through some of the most scenic, great fishing water anywhere.

btw, the bridge from the canadian and u.s. border in the movie 'the untouchables' is in one of the sections below craig....also a pull-out over looking the river is where clint eastwood pulls off when he realizes jeff bridges has died in ' thunderbolt and lightfoot'...just a little trivia...

  4. Just something to look at as you sit at home thinking about summer. Actually 2 videos from the Mo'. Kevin also plays the guitar and for your musical enjoyment, he did the music for the 'Missouri Flow" video.

    Enjoy,

    Frank

BTW...if you're ever heading to Montana to get guided on the Mo', Greg Falls guides through Headhunters in Craig. I've known Greg for over 10 years and this is my first guide trip with him.....he works his can off for you and will get you into fish and, he's a great guy....make sure to ask for him.
