  1. Funny you say that as it has been done. I remember reading about this experiment in an old fish hatchery book. From what i remember they didn't survive very well and survival rates were astronomically low. Weird looking trout going by the photo's. As for discussion of Tiger Trout reproduction, extremely unlikely. Consider in the wild brooks and browns occupy many of the same habitats yet only a few naturally produced tiger trout are ever captured. Not much of a concern if you look at the numbers.

Cool, I'm super excited about getting these in Alberta. But wasn't sure if it will create issues for other water sheds if someone illegally transported them. Sounds like the issue has been considered, and the risk is relatively low of them becoming an ongoing competive species (against cuts, bows, and Browns) in rivers and lakes that they weren't intentionally stocked in.

    Just my 0.02$ though.

    Cheers

  2. I have the 9' fishcat and it works great. I primarily fish the bow with it, but I have had it on some lakes as well. In hind sight I would've rather gone with the 8' just for a little bit lighter weight, smaller size, and little bit easier manoverability on moving water (when kicking with fins). Hope this helps.

    Cheers.

This is a little short film, i've put together. If any of you have an critiques, please send them through PM, i would like to know what you think. (buffering on Vimeo is a bit of a pain, for the best viewing, click the play button twice, and let the entire clip load up!)

    Enjoy.

Nice vid. How does the electric motor work for pushing around your drift boat? I've wondered if you could put a small motor on a drift boat.

  4. I use a Griffin Odysssey. It was a gift from my old man. Its okay, but the tip of jaw cracked. I also find that the set up isnt to handy for small flies (<16). At some point I will upgrade most likely to a renseti (sp?). post-2158-1296072009.jpg

  5. Thanks to everyone who responded...Great advice on the boat... I have looked at a couple of the websites and wondered which boat would fit on top of my Subaru...I think a light nine footer is in the cards. As far as waders are concerned, I totally agree with " you get what you pay for", but whats the differene in technology in waders above $200? Are you paying for the Simms name or are they a superior product?

    Thanks again for the information

I have the 9' fish cat and handles great on the bow. my only complaint is that is too heavy when fully loaded to carry it. when I float the bow I usually end up making 2 or 3 trips with my gear from my jeep to the waters edge. The 8' version might be a little easier for carrying. Something to think about. Cheers.

  6. I have 2 TFO's ( 1-6 weight, 1- 4 weight). Was about to purchase my third last week when Fish tales recommended trying out Amundson. I ended up going for the Amundson - 4 piece 6 weight. It was cheeper, the same warrenty, and casted better in my opinion. It came with a rigid rod case as well. All this for $119. Pretty good deal I thought. Go to Fish tales and try both the TFO and Amundson.
