  1. Well handled. I still remember long ago learning myself through this very forum, how to better handle fish.

I hope you can show us the finished drawing / painting / graphic? I am not sure why you wouldn't be able to unless it is for a non sponsoring fishing guide company, etc.

  2. I cant figure out how to post pics in this new forum at all. I open the little image box, and it let's me put a URL in there but then won't do anything and literally times out or freezes the page. I've just decided to not post because I was too lazy to care or too busy to care but I do have some nice pics from the last few years I'd like to share with the community. So what's the secret? Step by step, HOW are you posting pics on this board?

    Thanks! :)

  3. surprised none of the forum whiners have jumped all over that fish laying on the rocks picture without first getting all the info needed. If it was actually a catch and release fish, all I'll say is please educate yourself through some of the many helpful posts on the board on proper fish handling, and if you ate it... YUM.

I absolutely love that hook up shot by the log jamb that is a freekin classic!

EDIT: Oh forgot to mention, that artwork - you have a really good eye and great design skills. I'd buy the T-Shirt, for what it's worth :)

  4. Would you believe someone PM'd me thinking I was talking about using WD40 for steel? Good lord!

Jayhad trolls this board all the time I was merely suggesting he add a little juice to the troll bait he's dangling in front of folks (especially ones that don't get the joke, twice, and PM someone)

  5. Teck I am with you on the Mouse pattern. I landed my second largest rainbow ever, this year, on a mouse pattern in Stillwater and I still feel the adrenaline rush of that take when I think about it! :) If I could figure out how to post pictures on here I would, but it won't accept my links for some reason

  6. so what you (jet boat supporter) folk are trying to say is that you feel a flood does more damage than you do? Really?? That's the one post you would use to lean on in support of your argument here?

A flood happens during high water season. Then the waters recede leaving trout and bug producing riparian zones along river banks. The erosion of those areas happens enough the way mother nature intended it too.... ONCE a year during high water. It shouldn't have to happen 853 times per day in August too.

Just like the quadders up wrecking the Alberta wilderness, you ARE wrecking the river. Period. End of discussion.

Do you have a right to do so?

Sure... as much right as the folks ripping up the Oldman area. Do people who can't stand it have a right to be pissed off about it? you're darned right we do. :)

Do we have a right to speak up and be loud about it? YOU BET

  7. great pictures and thanks for picking up. That section of river does not look too changed by the floods, good to know. I have not wandered down that far for a while (though by my guess you drove it? Is there access there? I'd hate to walk a long couple km's along the river only to find anglers in that area?)

  8. Yes I know. I actually need to get another quarantine tank for freshwater at some point. I have not replaced any fish in a long time right now.

As far as saltwater, I think my best bet would be going mid size to large (60-200+ gallons).

I'd want the whole experience from it, colorful fish, great corals, etc. I do know that I would have to research a TON before I decided to actually start anything up ...including some research on how to successfully push the idea on to the missus :)

  9. kritofr,

Those Iridescents are barely 6 months old, they are growing crazy fast. In fact they may even outgrow this tank. The Balas will (hopefully) top out around the 10-13 inch mark and be the perfect size for this tank. Those Roselines should reach just around 6" and will compliment them nicely.

I actually had another pair of iridescents not too long ago but gave them away. I felt I could not offer 4 of them enough tank room given how large the first two are now.

I would have LOVED to see your fish room back in it's prime!!

I may do cichlids at some point down the road in this tank if I look for a change. A big piece of driftwood and a slate wall would be brilliant in it.

  10. yeah, I heard that it is wise to only ever have one if you have one. The rainbow shark (non albino) is apparently much worse. In my tank the red tail keeps this albino in check, and luckily for me everyone gets along right now except for a large pleco I removed a while ago that would chase and even attempt to injure other fish that budded in on his feeding "area". :) kind of like me at dinner time :) lol
