Is that an Olympus? Nice macro on that baby!! (not to mention the underwater feature!!)
-
Is this the same Vibram as found in good quality hiking boots, mountaineering boots, etc.??? Or is it a special non-slip compund for fishing made by Vibram?
-
Ha ha, probably...but think about where you hold your remote control while watching TV....
-
As far as the original question goes...I know if you stick your keyfob by your head to unlock/lock your car (without piercings) it increases the range....didn't believe it until I tried it...(yes, you do feel kinda stupid)..so maybe the more metal the better for cell reception.

Does anyone know who handles this stuff in town? Or at least a good substitute? I've heard Flexi-body is good because it's quite elastic and quite thick to make good segmented bodies (also Oliver Edwards uses it, so you know it's good....he's like fly tying's Chuck Norris!!)

Website doesn't say the chutes are open, only Drifter and Gambler....says 51 runs open. Anyway, lots of snow to go around sounds like! I'll ask around at work tonight though (Ski Cellar)

I find I have much better luck with just a single nymph on, but I've always thought it was just my technique!
-
I forgot to mention that during our family outing there the other day, all the staff was great, very friendly, even if they were just walking by with stock....that is EXCEPT for the fly-fishing area.....the two dudes in there didn't even say 'hi' or ask if I needed a hand, they were not busy and we were the only ones in there! I like to support local shops if the service is there (and it usually is), but if the wife and kids like going out to Bass Pro, we'll definately make a few trips there during the year, especially once the mall opens...there's not many shops that you can go to while the better half is shopping at her favorite stores!

They G4's are completely mispriced, they were on the same rack and same price as the Freestones..they haven't started off so well!
That's what I thought, can anyone answer why those jackets seem soo short?
-
Can't beat a pair of breathable waders for $99 (the White River stuff)....also they had some Simms guide jackets (G4 I think...orange with grey) for $319, which I thought was cheap.

Was there today with the wife and kids...and we all really enjoyed it...That beast of a rainbow was chasing some of the smaller guys around and then it just jumped half out of the water and it splashed my son! I could definately see a fish jumping out of that tank. Anyway, I don't think I've ever walked into a store and been in awe right out of the gate....We walked in and just stopped and looked up for a couple minutes before we even moved! Fly fishing area is a little sparse for sure, but I would imagine it will grow with increased demand! That shooting game is fun too!

That just what i like... tie em as you see em on the river
Right, I just have to get some specimens first!! So I'm kinda guessing right now I suppose!
-
So smaller than Oliver then? hmm.
-
Another question....Oliver says he ties his Ryac no smaller than a 12, what sizes do you guys tie the ryac and hydro in for the Bow/Alberta streams?
-
Yeah it doesn't look that bad actually. Knowings half the battle, GI JOE!
Yeah, I think I'd do some things differently, I think it has a few too many segments and is a little on the thicker side, but just to get the idea!
-
Here's a step by step of the Hydro, supposedly following Oliver Edwards pattern:

They're talking about giving out careles driving charges instead of just a speeding ticket. Problem is, the law states that officers must physically be holding the driver's license in order to issue this ticket. So if you get one, fight it because if you get this charge it also amounts to a 50% surcharge on your insurance!!
-
Max has one of those Loop jackets, I'd be interested to know how he likes it!
-
Just a guess, but with the economy the way it is right now....guide outfits may not be needing any extra help.
-
Was closed last week when i was downtown!

I fear the day I catch a sucker on the Bow, I don't want to have to touch one of those things....I don't know why Whitefish sick me out too...ha ha, and no, I'm not a girl...just maybe a bit soft...ha ha. I've caught a few Whitefish on the Bow, they fight ok, the best fight was when I foul hooked one, then they really fight like a trout. I'm reading a book right now called Fishing Montana where the author talks primarily about trout, and Whitefish and the rest of the lot he considers "trash fish", yet talks about Whitefish in the same regard as the "trash fish". He talks about fishing the Madison that you have to know your riseforms to distinguish Rainbows versus Whitefish....I didn't know that Whitefish will surface feed. I know my grandpa's attitude toward bull trout was to toss em in the bushes because they ruin the cuttie population, I'm glad that that train of thought is starting to go by the wayside, although I'm sure that sentiment is still out there to some extent.

I got my Nautica suit at the Bay in Chinook (the Bay downtown is even better) for 40% off. They have Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Nautica, Jones New York and more. So if you can wait a bit, keep scoping the sales there. My suit was reg. $750 and got it for $450 and eventhough it's Nautica, it says "Made in Canada" on the label. Oh, and they did alterations at no cost.

I think I know where it is....but have never been, I've been meaning to get there for a couple seasons now.
Great vid, I especially like being able to watch in HD on my laptop!

I saw the extended version of the video and the river was flowing in less than 5 minutes, the water pressure was able to move the debris. Some geologist figured that if it didn't start when it did there would have been a huge destructive flood when the damn broke, go figure!
Those geologists...ha ha:
