  2. Please join the Fish Tales crew for two free upcoming events! SUNDAY APRIL 13, 1:00 PM: join Kurtis for a discussion on pike fishing that will help improve your odds when out stalking the waterwolf. He’ll discuss how to find pike; what flies work best, when and why; pike set ups; seasons for pike and more. He’ll also be tying a couple of his favorite pike patterns. This is part of our free Sunday seminar series that runs most Sundays from late October through December and mid-January through April. Seminars are open to anyone who wants to attend. Start time is 1 p.m. Sessions generally last one to two hours. First ones in get the chairs! WEDNESDAY APRIL 16, 7:00 PM: Join Fish Tales staff members as we turn off the open sign and break out the vises. Once a month through the winter we will gather together to share stories, re-stock the fly boxes and learn tips and tactics from one another. This event is free, open to the public and goes from about 7-9. This Wednesday marks the last installment for spring of 2014, so be sure to drop by for lots of laughs! NEW VIDEO: Since March 2012, Fish Tales has been posting "Fish Face Friday" as a way to celebrate the start of the weekend. The crew has put together a new video montage of the first year of photos that will be sure to get you excited for fishing as our weather improves! Check out the new video here: http://www.fishtalesflyshop.com/2014/04/08/fish-face-friday-year-one-compilation-march-2012-march-2013/
  3. Fish Tales has some great free events this week we would like to share with everyone. Our first one is this Thursday, January 17 starting at 7:00 PM. Come by the shop after hours to check out Tales and Tying. Simply bring your vice and materials. This is a great opportunity to to tie with other anglers, share stories and learn new flies! Or, at the very least, its an opportunity to get out of the house and possibly even avoid some chores! Also, this Sunday, January 20, is our second free Sunday Seminar of 2013. Join Doug McLean for this session dedicated to tying flies with Enrico Puglisi (EP) tying materials. EP synthetics fibers have grown in popularity in the past few years but can be a bit tricky to work with – especially initially. Doug has been using EP materials for several seasons and proven their effectiveness on numerous fishing excursions – close to home and abroad. Join him as he demonstrates some of his favorite techniques and patterns tied with these effective materials. Our Sunday Seminar Sessions start at 1:00, but first ones in the door get the chairs! To see all our events, updated news, sale items and list of complete seminars and sessions check out our website at www.fishtalesflyshop.com. We look forward to seeing you!
  4. Please join us this Sunday, December 2, for our next free Sunday seminar! This seminar will feature Fish Tales crew member Kurtis Giles who will be tying up some of his favorite streamers. Kurtis will go over these favorite patterns and discuss some tactics for using them on the water. Our seminar begins at 1:00 and is free and open to the public. Also, back this year is our "Christmas Wish List Book." This is an opportunity for all those anglers who have been good all year to walk around the store with a list and clipboard and check off all the things you hope Santa will bring you. Then, when Santa asks what you want for Christmas your list is already compiled! Santa can either come on in and grab the list from the book or call us and we can compile it for them. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
