onthefly7 Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 I know that the Bow is the premier Alberta river so I would like to give it its due. -So when is the best time for Bow fishing during July and how many days should I devote solely to it? -Also, since the trunk road is apparently 400+ miles long what would be the most worthwhile section to drive and where do I go to access it? Any directions? - Also any other ideal July Calgary itinerary ideas would be fantastic! Sorry to beg for so much valuable information but I only spend 1 month a year up there, so I will not be hogging all the spots or anything and my Dad does not get out much so I need to get ideas from you guys. Thanks for all your help! Andy Quote
gustuphson Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 If you have another month coming up next/each year I would break it up like: - Year 1 Southern AB Bow River down to the Montana border, you can figure out the specific waters from the other posts and recommended books. Probably would want to be fishing the Bow/sticking close to Calgary during the Stampede if you like... - Year 2 Cebtral AB or North/Central - Year 3 what ever you haven't fished yet (central or Northern) or back to the places you miss Quote

cdock Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'm doing a week myself in August as long as weather and everything holds. Check the hatch chart on the home page of this website, that'll tell you what flies you need. Quote
