Each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. we host a free seminar on a fly fishing topic. Come and participate. EXTENDED FOR 2009!!!, AT EACH SEMINAR WE WILL BE DRAWING FOR FREE PRIZES. ONLY THOSE ATTENDING THE SEMINAR WILL QUALIFY. FLY LINES, GEAR, FLY TYING SUPPLIES, ETC. WILL BE GIVEN AWAY AT EACH SEMINAR. Upcoming Seminars: January 10 – BULL TROUT FLIES Brent Piche spends a lot of time fishing for these big Char on Alberta streams. He will show you some of his favorite patterns. Check out the unique Bunny flies. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a $50 gift certificate for fly tying supplies.January 17 - TYING INTRUDERS Mike Gifford will show you these effective flies for Salmon, Steelhead, and even the Bow. Techniques for preparing and tying with Rhea are the focus. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a selection of Steelhead Intruders.January 24 - FLY FISHING EXPO – SPRUCE MEADOWS Come and see us at Expo for some great deals on gear. ** Come and cast the new Sage TCX fly rods. January 31 - WHAT”S NEW FROM IDYLWILDE FLIES Dee Chatani will show us the new fly patterns for 2008. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a selection of the new patterns. February 7 – MONGOLIA 2008 Come and see video and slides from the trip to the Ur River in Northern Mongolia in September 2008. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a copy of Fish Bum Diaries –River Wolf.February 14 – NO SEMINAR – FAMILY DAY WEEKENDFebruary 21 - BOW RIVER 2008 RECAP Memories from the summer of 2008 on the River. Slide shows and video of fishing as well as presentations on successful fly patterns and techniques. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a guided float trip on the Bow in 2009 with a CP staff member as your fishing partner.February 28 – TARPON The title says it all. We will tie our favorite Tarpon patterns and then present a selection of videos from the 2008 saltwater season. If violent eats and jumping fish offend you please show caution. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a selection of Tarpon flies.March 7 – FAVOURITE PATTERNS WITH DARREN BANASCH Darren, owner of Hook and Hackle, will tie a selection of his favorite patterns for Southern Alberta. All attendees will be entered in a draw to win a $50 gift certificate for fly tying supplies. Important Note: All seminars start at 10:00 am and will end between 11:00 and noon. There is no charge and no pre-registration required. Simply drop by the shop and enjoy the seminar.
