fishfreak Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 Not the best week for me, as I broke my rod tip on my 5 piece 3 weight, then lost my fly reel, and then broke the same 3 weight (used a replacement tip) right at the first connection on an overzealous roll cast. Thankfully I have a spare rod and a lifetime warranty on my broken one or I'd be going cazy. Argh! Now I have to lug around a larger rod for my backpacking trip this weekend... I know what you mean, fly rods are basically consumables. Switch to the backup and invoke the warranty - I don't bond with the equipment, I just use it.
