fisher26 Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Any thoughts and opinions on whether the moon cycles affect fishing at all? Personally I'm not really convinced, but at the same time being a fisherman I want to believe in this luck (at least until I realized I booked my fishing weekend on "off" days!). I'm sure veterans as well as less experienced folk have experiences and thoughts they would like to share about lunar cycles. Are they real, or just a bit of old fisherman’s luck... Quote
headscan Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Here's an old article on lunar cycles and bass fishing http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/artic...0602_BitsLunar/ Wouldn't be surprised if it affects trout and other species as well . At the very least a full moon gives you more light to fish those late night hatches Quote
cdock Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I've always been skeptical about them myself but a guy from work here uses one and tracks his success vs. the calendar and he swears by it. I don't really care cause it's not always about the catching for me as for the hiking and scenery but of course every bit of help is nice. Let me know if you try it out what your findings are. I'll do the same if I happen across one in line the next time I'm picking up some more gear. Quote
