cheeler Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Was a great time today, with alot of people out in the cold, snowy morning, but it did warm up to quite a bearable day near the end. Tons of rods to try out and some good instruction by Courtney had alot of people getting on the water fairly quickly. Even a few of the fish were cooperative, taking some purple streamers and attacking Courtney's pink strike indicator. Some pics: (hopefully many more to come from others): Quote
Pythagoras Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I had a good day there meeting a few members, thanks for it all. Cheers to Courtney who kept showing me how to cast and different casts while I morphed whatever he showed me into an overhead cast....lol... Quote
CDone Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks to all that braved a chilly morning to show up. It was also great seeing a half dozen members of the Reel Hookers Club show up, nice to see the ladies on the river. Big thanks to Val and Courtney for taking the time to come out and put this on for us. Cheers Colin Quote
headscan Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Heh, you'd never know that those first few pics and the last one were taken on the same day. Gotta love spring in Calgary... Great to meet a couple more people from the board. Was also great to be able to watch some experienced spey casters at work but it's also sickening to see how easy you guys make it look Pretty impressive turnout considering how miserable the weather was in the morning. sirocco Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Many thanks to Val and Courtney for coming out. I really enjoyed both the tying seminar and the casting. At least now I won't just be flailing in the water... I'll be doing educated flailing! Quote
ggp Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Great to meet Courtney and Val as well as several other board members....Also great to see Lynda McLennan and all the ladies ( what a great organization casting for life is) Quote
ogilvie Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Dido to all that and more...The ladies showed us a side of the fly fisherman that we rarely see,... very focused and determined...look out guys! C Quote
Harps Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I'm sad I couldn't make it up to Calgary for this... Looks like you guys had a blast. Quote
