It has been a busy Summer. I decided this year that I would really focus on doing some Plein Air painting. Along with the plein air painting, I have been trying my hand at oils. Just trying branch out and do some creative exploring outside the realm of watercolor. I really enjoy being outside and painting what you see and experience at the moment. The above piece Silo is 8" x 10" on MDF board. I had the opportunity to host a 2 1/2 day workshop with Doug Braithwaite, a nationally renown plein air painter. You can only learn so much from reading, you need to get out there and just do it! And the group learned a lot from our quick 2 1/2 day workshop. I will post more pictures and paintings from the workshop in an upcoming post.

The other item that has been keeping me busy is the redesign of my new website. I decided to do it myself, so as usual it is taking much longer than anticipated. Watch for an upcoming announcement when the site will be ready for prime time viewing. The site will make it very easy to order available prints and originals. The blog will also be incorporated into the site.

Talk soon, View the full article Quote
