Madpiper Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Anyone using this rod? I've been using an Elixer head matched to the rod with just a regular 9ft leader for nyphing. Looking for input on what others are using and perhaps their setups for streamers as well. Thanks! Quote
ogilvie Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Hey Madpiper...sweet rod...your better options are to use a 10 Polytip likely floating and then about 9' of leader and more if you want...The elixirs are designed for using Polytips...another option is to lengthen the leader you are using to about 16',this way you can eliminate the need for a polytip...the Elixir cast beautifully with any of the Polytips from Floating thru super fast sink, but don't get these confused with Sink Tips;differnet animal altogether...Streamers are a breeze C Anyone using this rod? CDone Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I'm running the new Snowbee Prestige Switch line (300gr 5/6) on my 4/5 Beulah, lots of fun to cast, these are a great line for all switch rods. I believe Courtney (Islandguy) had a major role in designing these lines. If you want to give the 300gr a try on your rod shoot me a PM and we can arrange a time for you to borrow it. Colin Quote
