Ricinus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Y'all have much luck with egg sucking leeches for steelies? DH wants me to tie a bunch up for him for our trip while he finishes building a rod. I've had good luck with egg sucking leeches, green and red butted skunks and the Alaskabou series. A lot of people use bunny leeches with good results, but I've never had much luck with them. I think presentation and size seem to be more important than type of fly. Regards Mike Quote
KnotLikely Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I've been told that a purple leech with a pink chenille or hot glue egg works well. What were you planning on using for the egg; egg yarn, chenille, beads, or hot glue? Quote
flyangler Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 The Dear Husband (DH) supplied hot pink chenille. Quote
