robert Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Not in Calgary mind you but west of Banff. Spent the last week tenting it just outside of banff through to Jasper - heck of a week but glad to be home singing the praises of a hot shower and a queen sized bed All I can say is oh my god, what a beautiful river to spend some time in while surrounded by the mountains... I can fully understand my jealousy now of living in Edmonton while everyone that lives south has year round fishing of the bow to experience. Only managed a couple of small trout on the fly, lost a couple but that doesn't matter. We took a run down the hiway for a bit then beat bush for a while to get to the water. Seen lots of dried up bones, probably deer - seen a few yotes but no bears at all... I've always wanted to experience a grizz - not up close and personal mind you - but just to experience one in the wild. Every time we talked about fishing, it rained - hard and cold - wasn't dressed properly for it but what the heck. Definitely going back before the snow flies.... Quote
