Guest bigbadbrent Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Here's my stoneclinger nymph that i tied up a few weeks ago, and finally got to put to use, and it works..very, very well... You'll see the obvious influences of evil weevils, brent bugs and pheasants in this fly Brent's Stoneclinger Size 14 pupa hook Tail : pheasant tail, try to split into 3 Body: Brown hares ear dubbing, pheasant pulled over. Back ends of biot tied in backwards, then reversed and tied in again to give you the segmented back abdomen Rib : Gold / bronze Legs : 4 - 6 biots, brown Quote
lonefisher Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 wish I could see the detail better but man that looks like a sweet little fly....... nice work man Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 and my inspiration (though not my picture, the ones i've found on the highwood and oldman are almost black) Quote
lonefisher Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 not to nitpick an obviously awesome fly but a bit of dark yellow or mottled brown raffia on the abdomen would be wicked. None the less I may have to try and tie up a couple of those myself. Just trying to undersatand the biots on the body but I think I get the gist of it. Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 i'll throw down a tutorial..give me an half hour Quote
