A friend of mine is trying to sell some fly fishing stuff that belonged to his father in-law and I'm trying to help him figure out the value of the items. One of the things he has is a Roots Dubbing Machine made in Kamloops. I had never heard of it before and it seems the company is no longer in business. Google searches haven't helped with much. If anyone has any sort of info, particularly on how much they sell for I'd appreciate it. PM's are fine.

If you were to buy one new, I think they were retailing around 70 bucks. If you want a comparable, look for Jan Siman Turbo Dubbing Spinner. You can pick these up for around 60 or so.

I had one given to me, first thing to do is replace the battery operated motor, it's crap. Replacing the hook ends isn't a bad idea either

Thanks for the info. I'm not interested in it myself, just trying to help a friend sell some stuff.

When Len Roots was doing the tour of all the shows introducing the Dubbing Machine he was offering it at an introductory price of $160 which included wire, cellire and a large assortment of llama dubbing. Now it would have a value of less than half that.
